Frequently Asked Questions

What are affordable education seating options for schools and colleges in the UK?

At Hussey Seatway, we provide two retractable seating solutions for education and primary schools. Our most popular solution for education seating would be our Maxam Bleacher which is our most cost effective solution, combined with our discovery bench.

What seating solutions are available for university lecture halls?

Hussey Seatway offer a variety of seating solutions for lecture halls. Two of our most popular solutions are the S200 LTF and S200 LTR both designed specifically for lecture theatre environments. These solutions have a writing ledge included in the framework. The S200 LTR ingeniously combines the benefits of retractable seating with the functionality of a continuous writing ledge, and the S200 LTF is a traditional fixed seating system with a fixed writing ledge.

What maintenance is required for folding bleacher systems in schools?

We recommend an annual maintenance inspection, particularly for systems used in schools and other public environments, to ensure they continue to operate safely, reliably, and at peak performance.

We offer a comprehensive after-sales support package that includes annual servicing, replacement parts, emergency call-outs, system upgrades and refurbishments, as well as ongoing staff training. This helps maximise the lifespan of your equipment and ensures users continue to get the best possible experience from the system.

Can anyone use the retractable seating unit?

No. We provide dedicated staff training to ensure authorised personnel understand how to operate the system safely, including the correct procedures for opening and closing the unit.

The system is also designed with safety measures that prevent pupils from manually opening or closing it. This helps protect both users and the equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation at all times.
