The British International School Riyadh (BISR)

Location: Saudi Arabia, Middle East

The British International School Riyadh (BISR) is a prestigious, not-for-profit institution with seven campuses across Saudi Arabia. Recently ranked the top school in the country for the second consecutive year, BISR delivers the UK National Curriculum to a diverse student body aged 3 to 18. With a reputation for excellence, BISR sought a seating solution that could match their high standards and dynamic learning environment.

BISR needed a flexible, high-capacity seating system for a multi-use space. The room required seating that could be easily repositioned for different events, yet also integrate seamlessly with a fixed balcony structure at the rear.

Solution

We designed and delivered an adaptable, mobile seating system that meets BISR’s evolving needs. Three Mobile Telescopic Units, consisting of 10 rows and can be used independently or joined together to form a single bank. The rear 5 rows are formed from a truncated retractable seating bank to give maximum capacity for end on performances.

For safety, truncated units have front rails, and all mobile units have removable rear rails, removable drapes, and removable self-storing rails when they are placed in a different area of the room for standalone use. When the mobile units are joined for one large unit, they have a locking device to keep the units in place.

Complimenting Gallery 3 chairs have been supplied on our Logix floor bar system in front and fixed tiered seating for the balcony. It was a real pleasure delivering this project with our local dealer Mediterranean Building Materials.
