Premier Nutrition Company (PNC) is one of the fastest-growing organisations in the proactive wellness space. They have been recognised as a Great Place to Work™ for nine consecutive years as of 2025 and currently rank eighth on Fortune Magazine’s Best Workplaces list within their category. Their continued growth created the need for a fourth headquarters building, which they found at the EmeryTech complex in Emeryville.

As they prepared to expand, Premier Nutrition wanted their new space to reflect their belief in how physical environments influence creativity, connection, and overall well-being. This project became an opportunity to extend the modernisation of their workplace and design an office where neuroscience-informed thinking shaped the experience. A key part of this vision was the all-hands area, a space used for weekly and quarterly gatherings. The furniture throughout this zone is designed to move easily, allowing the room to shift between large meetings, collaborative sessions, and even national sales events. This flexibility gives employees greater control over their environment and supports a sense of autonomy.

Solution

Premier Nutrition came to us with a clear vision for a bright, collaborative, and highly adaptable all-hands space. To support this, we designed and delivered a fully retractable seating unit that allows the room to transform depending on the needs of the moment. When extended, the seating accommodates large team gatherings; when retracted, it opens the floor for alternative uses and more dynamic configurations.

The final installation features eleven rows of seating with capacity for 225 people. To ensure smooth transitions between open and closed positions, the system includes folding rails. The fascia panels and side boards were finished in a custom wood tone to blend seamlessly with the surrounding architecture. To bring the space to life and align with Premier Nutrition’s brand identity, the benches were upholstered in three bold colours that add energy and visual interest to the room.

Through this collaboration, we helped Premier Nutrition create an all-hands environment that is functional, flexible, and aligned with the way their teams work today, while giving them the freedom to adapt the space as their needs evolve.
