Fareham Live

Location: Fareham, UK

The original Fareham hall, built in the 1980s underwent a major refurbishment and as part of the seating layout was redesigned to create a truly world-class venue. In September 2024, Fareham Live opened its brand-new venue, showcasing world-class entertainment. Fareham Live is a new state-of-the-art entertainment venue boasting an 800-seat concert hall and a 120-seat secondary space.

Solution

Working closely with architects FCB and Theatre Consultants Theatreplan, we were able to develop a unique solution, creating an immersive performance space. Our seatway TP platforms were designed in a faceted arrangement, drawing the audience into the stage. All retractable, fixed and floor chairs were provided with shared armrests, maximising the space width of the chairs and improving audience comfort, a key driver for the client.

The Space Max-L chairs were upholstered in red velvet, adding a traditional aesthetic to the modern building. On the side balconies, individual chairs were installed set at a 45-degree angle to enhance the sightlines even from the most awkward of spaces. At floor level, Logix chairs were supplied, allowing the space to be quickly cleared for non-seated events.

We executed the project in conjunction with the construction team at Neilcott. The overall result is truly spectacular, a flexible, modern theatre that can be enjoyed by the whole community.
